It’s time to move away from hand-edited HTML to a real content-management system. The old site’s content will appear gradually, starting some time in the future. But for now, this is a fresh start.
This site uses the StudioPress Genesis Framework with the Associate child theme. Most of the front page’s widget areas are unused. Widgets appear in the Main Bottom #1 area and the three Footer areas.
The child theme’s CSS has been only slightly tweaked to avoid unnecessary use of Google fonts.
Updated 2016-04-21
Over the previous ten months I’ve edited both style.css
and functions.php
more than I had realized. Changes to the default configuration are
- Showing Previous and Next links in posts.
- Showing a copyright notice in the footer text.
- Showing a Search field and button in the secondary menu. (Oops. But the secondary menu still is unused.)
- Sorting archive lists in ascending order by date.
- Showing [Read More…] after all excerpts.
